STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced that defenseman Nathan Deck has been reassigned to the Thunder from the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League and Edmonton has recalled Thunder goaltender Olivier Roy to Oklahoma City.

Deck, 22, is expected to join the Thunder this week. The team returns to play on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. (StocktonThunder.com) against the Ontario Reign at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

The 5-foot-11 and 185 pound defenseman has earned six points and ten penalty minutes in 25 games with the Barons this season and was signed to a two-way AHL contract with Oklahoma City on Feb. 19.

Deck has 16 points (5g-11a) and is tied for the Thunder lead with a +8 rating in 19 ECHL games this season. He capped his rookie campaign last year by earning the Thunder "Unsung Hero" award while ranking second among Thunder defensemen with 26 points in 60 games.

Deck was originally signed by the Thunder as a free agent on Aug. 4, 2011. He previously earned 118 points in 272 games with Prince Albert of the Western Hockey League.

Roy, 21, is 3-1-0 in four games with the Thunder this season and earned his fifth career ECHL shutout on Feb. 16 vs. San Francisco. He heads back to Oklahoma City where he has a record of 7-8-3 with a .899 save percentage and 2.86 goals-against-average in 19 games.

The 6-foot and 180-pound goaltender has a 9-9-1 record, 2.77 goals against average and .905 save percentage in 25 career AHL games with Oklahoma City and Springfield.

Roy's recall comes on the same day that Edmonton recalled goaltender Yann Danis from Oklahoma City and placed goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin on injured reserve.

A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12. Season Tickets, Group Tickets and Mini-Plans are on sale now.
