DEFENSEMAN GAFFNEY JOINS AEROS

March 15, 2002 - HOUSTON, TX - Aeros Vice President/General Manager Dave Barr announced today that D Mike Gaffney was signed to a Pro Tryout Contract.

Gaffney, (25) has played the majority of this season with New Haven (UHL), where he has 15 assists and 12 PIM in 34 games. He has also suited up for seven games with Austin (CHL), where he has posted 1-2-3, 4 PIM. Gaffney appeared in nine games with the Aeros last season, where he had two assists.

Gaffney will be in the lineup tonight when the Aeros take on the Utah Grizzlies at the Compaq Center at 7:30 PM. Plan to get there early, as C Shawn Carter will do more than take a face off at center ice, when he kisses a pig for ADA during the first intermission.
