
Defender Carlos Terán Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC today announced that defender Carlos Terán underwent a successful surgery on his right knee to address a tear in his meniscus.
The surgery was performed by Chicago Fire FC Chief Medical Officer Jason Koh, M.D., MBA, at the Endeavor Health Orthopaedic & Spine Institute. Endeavor Health is the Official Team Physicians and Orthopaedic provider of Chicago Fire FC. Terán is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks.
The Fire's preparation for the 2024 season is currently underway, with the team currently holding the first half of its preseason training camp in Bradenton, Fla., before traveling to California from Feb. 15-17 to participate in the Coachella Valley Invitational.
Chicago's 2024 regular season, driven by Carvana, will open on the road against the Philadelphia Union at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa. The following weekend, the Fire will host 2023 MLS Supporters' Shield winners FC Cincinnati on March 2 at Soldier Field. Scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT, the match against Cincinnati will mark the earliest home opener in Chicago Fire history, occurring two days prior to the Club's 2023 opener.
