GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -- Grand Prairie AirHogs righty Nick DeBarr's first start was solid, throwing six-plus innings of one-run baseball to beat Laredo on May 18, but his second was even better. On May 22, DeBarr allowed only four hits in a complete-game 6-0 shutout of El Paso, walking one and striking out four. For his efforts, DeBarr was named the Pointstreak American Association Pitcher of the Week, as selected by Pointstreak, the official statistician of the league.

The 28-year-old did not allow a single runner to second base in his outing, and improved to 2-0 with a 0.60 ERA on the young season.

He is the first Grand Prairie player to win a league award in 2012.

The AirHogs also made a roster move this weekend, releasing pitcher Mike Hart. The move comes with the league's deadline to reduce the roster to 22 players by Sunday.

The 2011 American Association Champion Grand Prairie AirHogs have Sunday and Monday off before starting a six-game road-trip in Sioux City and Wichita, beginning on Tuesday, May 29, at 7:05 against the Explorers. The next home game at QuikTrip Park is Monday, June 4, at 7:05 against the Laredo Lemurs. That night is Margarita Monday, with $1 off all margaritas. All games are aired live and for free on Ustream by clicking on the link on the AirHogs' home page or visiting http://www.ustream.tv/channel/airhogs-baseball with selected contests aired on Time Warner Cable's Texas Channel.
