This Week's Game Notes

The Dayton Gems prepare to meet the Missouri Mavericks for the first time this season, battling in another three-in-three series beginning on Thursday night in Dayton, and traveling to Missouri for action on Friday and Saturday night.

The Mavericks currently sit in third place in the Turner Conference standings, a single point behind first place Evansville IceMen and tied with second place Fort Wayne Komets in total points with 18. Fresh off a one goal win over the Quad City Mallards last weekend, the Mavs bring home the Gems this weekend for only their sixth game in front of the friendly hometown crowd this season, playing nearly double the games on the road so far this season, with a whopping 7-2-1 record away from home.

Dayton comes into this weekends series after a .500 three-in-three series last week, in which they would fall to 2-3-2 at home with a shootout loss and regulation loss to Quad City and Fort Wayne, respectively. Looking to get back into the win column at home, the Mavs will be the full target of the Gems angst this weekend, and will provide the Gem City fans with their first glimpse of the Mavericks since back on March 6th, which saw a 6-2 Gems win at Hara Arena.
