QUACK TRACKS

Close Calls

The Mallards suffered back-to-back one-goal losses last weekend after earning a shootout win last Wednesday in Dayton.

Home and Away The Mallards lost back-to-back home games last weekend to drop to 2-4-0 on home ice this season. Last Wednesday's win at Dayton ended the Mallards' three-game road losing streak.

Highs and Lows The Mallards last Friday night against Fort Wayne matched a season high by allowing six goals. One night later, the Flock matched a season low by surrendering two goals against Missouri.

Penalty Kill

The Mallards have killed off 14 of their opponents' last 16 power plays and have survived 28 of their foes' last 31 man advantages. The Mallards have climbed to fifth in the league in penalty killing (80.8 percent).

Little Big Man Brandon Marino (8-11-19) leads the Mallards in goals, assists and points and is tied for the team lead in power play goals (3). Marino is tied for ninth in the league in goals, tied for tenth in points and tied for seventh in power play goals. Marino last Friday against Fort Wayne registered at least three points (one goal and two assists) in a game for the fourth time this season.

Chewy Justin Chwedoruk (6-8-14) has scored four goals and totaled 10 points in six games since returning from a three-game concussion-induced absence.

Trio

Jason Kostadine last Wednesday in Dayton scored his third goal of the season in his twelfth game after scoring three times in 66 games last season.

Welcome Back The Mallards last Friday signed left wing Jake Riddle, who played 53 games for the Flock last season. After making his first appearance of the campaign for the Mallards last Friday night against Fort Wayne, Riddle scored his first goal of the season one night later against Missouri.

The Mallards remain the league leaders in shots on goal (38.0 per game). The Flock was outshot in its games last Wednesday- by Dayton- and Friday- by Fort Wayne- before outshooting Missouri last Saturday.

Conference Call

Ins and Outs

Riddle's signing last Friday shored up the Mallards' forward corps in the absence of Sean Flanagan, who has missed the Mallards' last two games (concussion), and John Snowden, who has missed six games.

Head-to-Head

The Mallards Friday night meet the Bucks for the first time ever. Saturday night will bring the final meeting of the year between the two clubs- the Bucks will not visit the Quad Cities this season.
