Dragons On The Field

The Dragons received blue chip prospect infielder Noelvi Marte to begin the last series against Peoria. Marte was the headline piece that came back to the Reds in the trade that sent former Reds ace Luis Castillo to the Mariners. Marte ranked as the Mariners No. 1 prospect before the trade, and now ranks as the Reds No. 1 prospect per MLB Pipeline.

Infielder Jose Torres hit the first grand slam of the year for the Dragons last Thursday against Peoria. It was part of a seven run third inning for Dayton that propelled them to their second win of the series.

The Dragons have nine players on MLB Pipeline's Top 30 Reds Prospects list, headlined by infielder and Reds No. 1 prospect Noelvi Marte. Other top prospects on the Dragons roster include right-handed pitcher Chase Petty, infielder Tyler Callihan, outfielder Austin Hendrick, catcher Mat Nelson, right-handed pitcher Christian Roa, infielder Jose Torres, right-handed pitcher Joe Boyle, and left-handed pitcher Steve Hajjar.
