Today's Game : The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) host the Fort Wayne TinCaps (affiliates of the San Diego Padres) in the third game of a six-game series.

Last Game: Wednesday : Dayton 3, Fort Wayne 2. The Dragons built a 3-0 lead over the first two innings and then turned back a continuous TinCaps comeback effort to hold on for the win. Fort Wayne left runners in scoring position in every inning except the first and eighth, stranding a total of 13 in the game while going 3 for 18 with runners in scoring position. In the sixth, they had the tying run at third with no outs and could not score. Dragons reliever Brody Jessee was sensational, striking out eight in three scoreless innings. Hector Rodriguez had a two-run single to lead the Dayton offense.

In the Standings : The Dragons have moved into a tie for first place with the Great Lakes Loons. The two teams have identical records of 6-5.

Team Notes The Dragons have won four consecutive home games since losing their opening night home game on April 5. During the current week (2 games played), Dayton pitchers lead the MWL in team ERA (1.50), most strikeouts (25), fewest runs allowed (3), fewest hits allowed (11), and lowest opponent's batting average (.177). In the current series, Dayton relief pitchers have not allowed a run covering 8.2 innings, allowing just four hits.

Player Notes Luis Mey last night fired a fastball at 103 mph to break the record at Day Air Ballpark of 102 by Hunter Greene in 2018. Through 11 games, the Dragons big three of Hector Rodriguez, Sal Stewart, and Cam Collier is batting a combined .325 with five home runs and 27 RBI in 117 at-bats. Cam Collier went 0 for 4 last night to snap his nine-game hitting streak. This was the longest hitting streak to start a season since Brian Rey hit in 13 straight in 2021. Collier ranks among the MWL leaders: 2 nd in RBI (12); Tied for 1st in home runs (3); 8 th in slugging percentage (.548). Sal Stewart over his last eight games is batting .400 (12 for 30) with one home run and six RBI, including five multi-hit games. Ethan O'Donnell has drawn nine walks in his last five games including three last night. He has 11 walks on the year, one off the league lead.
