Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) battle the South Bend Cubs (affiliate of the Chicago Cubs) in the fourth game of a six-game series.
Last Game: Thursday: Dayton 4, South Bend 2. In another well-pitched game by Dragons hurlers, Dayton won its second straight over South Bend. The Dragons broke a 2-2 tie on back-to-back triples by Tyler Callihan and Austin Callahan in the eighth inning. Pitchers Javi Rivera, Brooks Crawford (win) and Vin Timpanelli (save) combined to allow just five hits. Tyler Callihan and Blake Dunn each had two hits as the Dragons reached double-figures in hits for the second straight game. The Dragons had three triples to tie a club record. It was the first time this season with more than one triple in a game, and the two in the eighth inning came on back-to-back pitches.

Aguiar and Jose Acuña ranked first and second in the MWL in ERA before their innings totals dropped below the minimum to qualify on Thursday. Aguiar was first at 1.62; Acuña is at 2.51. The duo also ranked first and second in WHIP and Opponent's Batting Average.
Two other Dragons starting pitchers have posted excellent ERAs on the year including Hunter Parks (2.84) and Chase Petty has an ERA of 0.75 in just 12 innings (three starts).
