Dayton Dragons (28-41) at Great Lakes Loons (42-24)

RH Jhon De Jesus (1-5, 5.11) vs. RH Jose Chacin (5-4, 5.57)

Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Great Lakes Loons (affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) in the last game of a three-game series. This is the final game of the First Half season.

Last Game: Saturday: Dayton 5, Great Lakes 4 (10 innings). Connor Bennett protected a one-run lead by pitching around a "free runner at second" situation in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Dragons evened the series. Great Lakes had won a 10-inning game on Friday with three runs in the bottom of the 10th. The Dragons took a 4-1 lead with four runs in the sixth, keyed by an RBI double by Michael Siani and a two-run double by Miles Gordon. The win was the Dragons first extra inning win of 2019 after four losses. Great Lakes went 2 for 16 with men in scoring position and stranded 14 runners. The game was played in three hours, 42 minutes, making it the longest game of the year for the Dragons.

Team Notes

In the month of June, the Dragons have a record of 11-3. In June, they are sixth in the MWL in team batting (.238); third in runs scored with 67 in 14 games (Great Lakes leads the league); and tied for first in stolen bases (24). On the mound, they rank fourth in team ERA (2.83).

Dragons starting pitchers in 20 games since May 25 have posted an ERA of 2.50 (93.2 IP, 26 ER) to lower their full-season ERA from 5.07 to 4.45.

Dragons relievers since May 1 have posted an ERA of 3.80 (180 IP, 76 ER) and lowered their full-season ERA from 5.70 to 4.60. However, in the last three games, the bullpen has allowed 15 runs (14 earned) in 12 innings to suffer two losses and two blown saves (with one win).
