Day One of Spitfires 2010 Training Camp Ends, Team Blue Defeats Team Red 6-5

(Windsor) The Windsor Spitfires concluded day one of the team's 2010 training camp at the WFCU Centre with Team Red playing their first scrimmage of the day against Team Blue. Team Blue improved to a perfect 2-0 record as they defeated Team Red 6-5. Eric Locke (Mississauga Reps Maj. Midget AAA - GTHL) enjoyed his second consecutive two-goal performance of the day, with Zack MacQueen (Windsor Spitfires - OHL) registering three points for the second straight contest and Sammy Banga (LaSalle Vipers Jr. B - GOJHL) scoring two goals including the game winner at 20:12 of the final stanza. Jack Campbell and Zack Vespi combined for their straight win, stopping a combined 20 of 25 shots.

Team Red was paced by Derek Lanoue's (Windsor Spitfires - OHL) one goal, three assist effort, with Manny Gialedakis (Dixie Bee Hives Tier 2 - OJHL) netting two goals and Tom Kuhenhackl (Windsor Spitfires - OHL) posting a one goal, two point performance.

Tomorrow's morning session will see Team Blue take to the ice for a 9 a.m. practice, followed by the camp's third scrimmage where Team Red takes on Team White, with each team looking for their first win of the round robin. The afternoon session will feature a 3 p.m. practice and 4 p.m. scrimmage, the players for this will be announced following the morning session.

After the 4 p.m. scrimmage, Spitfires management will select their roster for the Blue-White game. Windsor's 2010 Training Camp will conclude with the Blue-White game, to be played at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 at the WFCU Centre. Admission is free, fans are encouraged to attend.
