
Dawgs Answer Back, Down Marksmen

ROANOKE, Va. - The Fayetteville Marksmen, proud members of the SPHL, fell 4-1 to the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs on Saturday night.
Noah Finstrom opened up the scoring 2:06 into the game, potting home a rebound set up by Travis Broughman and Matt Dorsey, putting the Dawgs up 1-0 for the lone first-period goal.
Sam Dabrowski evened up the score with a short-handed breakaway, 9:58 into the middle period, making it 1-1, also for the lone tally of the period.
Bryce Martin potted capitalized on an opening at the backdoor 13:10 into the final frame, putting the Dawgs back in front 2-1 with helpers coming from Travis Broughman and Noah Finstrom. Andrew Harley logged an insurance goal into the empty net at 17:37, making it 3-1. David Novotny added an empty netter of his own at 18:18 set up by Travis Broughman and Olivier Beaudoin, securing the 4-1 final.
Mason Beaupit stopped 30-of-32 shots faced in the Marksmen effort and Gabe Rosek stopped 24-of-25 in the Dawgs win.
Fayetteville and Roanoke meet again at the Crown Coliseum on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. EST, for the first of two School Day games. The game will be broadcast on FloSports.
