Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs News Release

The Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Saturday that forward David Novotny has officially signed with the team after he was claimed off of waivers from the Huntsville Havoc yesterday. He will wear number 48 for Roanoke in his debut against the Marksmen tonight.

Novotny is in his rookie season of professional hockey, recording three goals, four assists, 16 penalty minutes, and an even plus/minus rating in 31 games for the Havoc this season. Before turning pro, the Boca Raton, Florida native played four seasons of college hockey at New England College (NCAA-DIII), where Novotny was a teammate of fellow Dawg C.J. Valerian during the 2021-22 season. In 102 career collegiate games, the five-foot-eleven forward notched 29 goals, 21 assists, 98 penalty minutes, and a minus-one rating.

The Rail Yard Dawgs will hit the road to face the Fayetteville Marksmen on Thursday, February 19, at Crown Coliseum. Puck drop is slated for 10:00 A.M. EST in North Carolina. Season ticket packages and group tickets are on sale by contacting the Rail Yard Dawgs' front office. Single game tickets for the season are on sale now online and at Berglund Center box office.
