VISALIA, CA - 3B Dawel Lugo hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield in the bottom of the 11th inning, scoring SS Domingo Leyba for a 5-4 Rawhide (7-1, 7-1) win over the Blaze (2-6, 2-6) at Recreational Ballpark on Friday night.

The first Fun-Filled Friday was capped off with the 5-4 walk-off victory after Henry Castillo, pinch hitting in the 9th, hit a solo home run to tie the game at 4-4.

Visalia took an early 1-0 lead when C Tyler Baker homered in the bottom of the third against Bakersfield starter LHP Tyler Pike.

For Visalia, RHP Brad Keller cruised through his first three innings of work, allowing just one hit and, one walk and he recorded four strikeouts. The second time through the lineup proved a little more troublesome for Keller. 1B Kyle Petty reached on an infield single followed by a RF Austin Williams single. Two batters later C Tyler Marlette singled to load the bases. DH Chantz Mack brought home two with a single to give Bakersfield the lead. 3B Joe DeCarlo knocked in Marlette for a 3-1 lead and CF Austin Cousino brought home the final run of the game for the Blaze with an RBI single to make it 4-1.

In the home half of the fourth 3B Dawel Lugo doubled and came home to score on 2B Cody Regis's RBI double to make it a 4-2 ballgame.

Keller was lifted after 5.0 innings, allowing four runs (all earned) on six hits, a walk and four strikeouts.

Pike lasted 6.2 innings, a new season high, giving up two runs (both earned) on seven hits, one walk and he also struck out four.

Once again neither starter factored into the decision. RHP Nick Baker came in for the Rawhide and continued the bullpen mastery, pitching 3.0 scoreless innings and giving up just one hit and picking up three strikeouts.

Against RHP Kyle Schepel, in the eight, gave up back-to-back doubles to SS Domingo Leyba and 1B Rudy Flores to make it a 4-3 ballgame.

RHP Isaac Sanchez closed out the eighth and pitched the ninth, allowing the tying home run to Castillo before RHP Ronald Dominguez (0-2, 7.36) pitched the tenth and the eleventh to take the loss when Leyba slid across the plate safely giving the Rawhide the 5-4, 11 inning win.

LHP Austin Wright threw one scoreless inning followed by LHP Zac Curtis (1-0, 1.50), who threw to scoreless innings to record the win.

The Rawhide are now 5-0 in one-run games and six of their seven victories have been come-from-behind victories. The bullpen once again did not allow a run over their six innings of work.

Tomorrow night will see LHP Josh Taylor (0-0, 5.68) take the mound for the third time this season against LHP Eddie Campbell (0-0, 7.36) for Bakersfield. First pitch set for 7:00 p.m. from Recreation Ballpark.

It's also the first All-American Saturday of the season presented by Budweiser. Rawhide players will be wearing American Flag jerseys and with the purchase of a Boot Mug fans can purchase half priced beer and soda. For tickets or more information call 559-732-4433.
