
David Koci Returns To Admirals

CHICAGO, Illinois - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have returned defenseman David Koci to the Admirals.
Koci (pronounced "KOH-chee"), 25, is a 6'6", 238 lb. defenseman from Prague, Czech Republic. He was recalled to Chicago on March 8 and made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks on March 10 at Phoenix, amassing 42 penalty minutes in his first game. In nine games with the Blackhawks, Koci went scoreless with 88 penalty minutes.
Koci has skated in 39 games for Norfolk this season, registering one assist and 212 penalty minutes. In 243 career AHL regular season and Calder Cup Playoff games, Koci has three goals and 20 assists with 984 penalty minutes.
Koci was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He played one season at Prince George in the Western Hockey League before playing for both Wheeling (ECHL) and Wilkes-Barre (AHL) over the past five seasons.
The Admirals are in Albany tonight to face off against the River Rats at 7:00. They will return to Scope next week for a pair of critical games against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Wednesday and Friday night.
