Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI-With a new American Hockey League record 27 overtime/shootout games to their credit this season, Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that the team will host a guaranteed overtime game next Friday night at 7:00 pm when the Admirals take on the Chicago Wolves at the Bradley Center.
The guarantee is simple: if the game does not go into overtime, the all fans in attendance can exchange their ticket for one of equal or lesser value to one of the three remaining regular season contests that the Admirals will play at the Bradley Center. Those games will take place on Tuesday, April 10th at 7:00 pm, Friday April 13th at 7:00 pm or Sunday, April 15th at 4:00 pm.
"Just as the sun rises in the east, so too you can count on us to go into overtime" noted Greenberg. "We pride ourselves on giving fans the best bang for their buck, and overtimes and shootouts always deliver the excitement."
The Admirals entered this week with 25 overtime contests before tying the mark on Tuesday with a 2-1 shootout win over Manitoba and then broke the mark with a 3-2 shootout loss to Grand Rapids on Wednesday. The old record of 26 was held by three teams: Albany (2002), Rochester (2002), and Portland (2004). Milwaukee still has six games with which to add to their total.
