WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah - The Professional Hockey Players Association (PHPA) announced today that Utah Grizzlies left wing David Gosselin has been named a nominee for the PHPA Ironman Award.

Gosselin, 25, scored 34 points (12-22 - 34) and notched 141 penalty minutes with the Grizzlies this season and was the only player to participate in all 80 regular season games for Utah. The Levis, Quebec native joined the Grizzlies last summer when he was acquired by the Dallas Stars, Utah's National Hockey League affiliate, from the Nashville Predators. Gosselin has played in 13 career NHL games, all with Nashville, scoring two goals and adding an assist.

Nominations are based upon individual player performance, with principle consideration placed on games played, points, and plus/minus statistics. A committee comprised of PHPA officials will announce the winners at the PHPA's Annual Meetings of Player Representatives in June.

For his exceptional efforts of consistency and perseverance, the successful candidates will be presented with a framed, PHPA print commemorating his efforts.

Gosselin is one of 27 nominees from the American Hockey League. Other players from the West Division that were nominated include Curtis Murphy (Houston), Mike Green (San Antonio), Derek MacKenzie (Chicago) and Bryan Lundbohm (Milwaukee).
