
Dash to Celebrate Independence Day Weekend at BB&T Ballpark

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (JULY 1, 2011) - The Winston-Salem Dash return to BB&T Ballpark on Saturday to begin a home stand filled with fireworks and fun as the team celebrates Independence Day all weekend long. The schedule of events includes a "Salute to Winston-Salem," with fireworks following the games on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
BB&T Ballpark gates will open at 5:30 p.m., 30 minutes earlier than usual, from Saturday through Monday to allow fans extra time to settle into their seats and still experience everything at the ballpark. The complete list of events for this weekend's celebration is as follows:
Saturday, July 2, 7p.m. vs. Salem Red Sox:
* Fireworks show following the game
* The new Outfield Bar at BB&T Ballpark will open for its first weekend series of the season; the first 800 fans 21 and over to enter the bar will receive a free beer courtesy of R.H. Barringer
* Two Dash players will host an autograph session inside the Hanes Team Store from 5:30 - 6:30
Sunday, July 3, 7 p.m. vs. Salem Red Sox
* Fireworks show following the game
* "Domino's Friends & Family Night" promotion; for $29.95, fans get four tickets to the game, four Dash baseball caps, and vouchers for a free large two-topping pizza and a two-liter soda
* Two Dash players will host an autograph session inside the Hanes Team Store from 5:30 - 6:30
Monday, July 4 (Independence Day), 7:05 p.m. vs. Salem Red Sox
* Fireworks show following the game
* Military flyover before the game
* Skydiver will deliver the first pitch baseball
* The Dash will salute our armed forces, as active military personnel will take the field with the team for the National Anthem
* Two Dash players will host an autograph session inside the Hanes Team Store from 5:30 - 6:30
* Game will be broadcast on television and can be seen on WXII's THIS Carolina, available on Time Warner Cable channel 121 or over-the-air on digital channel 12-2. The fireworks show will be carried on the live broadcast following the game
The home stand will continue on Tuesday, July 5 when the Dash conclude their four-game series with the Red Sox. Winston-Salem will then host the Myrtle Beach Pelicans for three games from July 6 - 8 before beginning a two-week stretch away from BB&T Ballpark.
Fans may still purchase tickets for these games and any Dash game this season by calling the Dash at (336) 714-2287, visiting www.wsdash.com, or by stopping by the BB&T Ballpark box office. The box office is open at 12 noon on game days and noon - 5 p.m. on non-game weekdays. It is advised that fans purchase their tickets in advance to shorten their wait times at the box office on game days and to ensure they get tickets before the games sell out.
