LYNCHBURG, VA (MAY 24, 2011) - The Dash took a two-run lead into the ninth inning on Tuesday night, but the Hillcats rallied to win 4-3 for their second straight walk-off victory over Winston-Salem. Keenan Wiley lined a bases loaded triple off the glove of centerfielder Jared Mitchell to score three runs and deliver Lynchburg the series victory.

The Hillcats (17-26) trailed 3-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth, but they did not waste any time starting their rally. Joey Terdoslavich doubled to lead off the inning against Ryan Kussmaul, who had just entered the game. Joe Leonard followed with a walk and was replaced by pinch runner and former Dash shortstop Kyle Davis. After a sacrifice bunt moved both runners into scoring position, Shawn McGill drew another Kussmaul walk to load the bases.

Taylor Thompson then entered the game for Kussmaul and got ahead of Wiley 0-2. After fouling off a two-strike pitch, Wiley lined the next offering to center. Mitchell got a late read on the ball and his attempt to snare it over his head failed as the ball ticked off his glove and rolled toward the wall. All three runners came around to score and the Hillcats celebrated a walk-off win on Calvin Falwell Field for the second consecutive night.

Lynchburg won a 2-1 game in 11 innings during Monday's series opener, its first walk-off win of the season.

The loss spoiled the Advanced-A debut of Dash starting pitcher Ryan Buch, who allowed one run on seven hits while striking out five. During one sequence, Buch struck out five straight hitters between the third and fifth innings.

Winston-Salem (19-26) grabbed its first lead in the first inning against Hillcats starter Chris Masters. Tyler Saladino led off the game with a double and came around to score when centerfielder Todd Cunningham booted away a single by Jose Martinez.

Buch gave up his only run in the third inning. Phil Gosselin walked with one out and scored from first base on Adam Milligan's wall-ball double to tie the game at one.

The Dash re-took the lead in the sixth against a tiring Masters. Andy Wilkins drove in Martinez from second base with a two-out RBI single to left to make it 2-1 Winston. Kyle Colligan made it a two-run lead on his RBI single to center.

The loss was charged to Kussmaul (3-1), who allowed three runs on a hit and two walks in 0.1 innings. Thompson suffered his fourth blown save of the season. Jeremy Haynes (1-0) worked two scoreless innings for Lynchburg to pick up his first win.

The Dash could not take advantage of a fine night from Martinez. The right fielder reached base four times in five trips to the plate, notching two singles, a double, a walk, a run scored, and a stolen base.

The series concludes on Wednesday at 6:05 p.m. RHP Cameron Bayne (3-3, 3.49) goes for Winston against RHP Willie Kempf (2-2, 6.59). The audio broadcast of the game starts at 5:45 on www.wsdash.com .

The Dash return to BB&T Ballpark on Monday (Memorial Day) for a special 4 p.m. game against the Potomac Nationals.
