WINSTON-SALEM, NC (JULY 8, 2011) - The Winston-Salem Dash on Friday announced a trio of roster moves. RHP Andre Rienzo has been placed on the disabled list, and RHP Brandon Kloess was promoted to AA Birmingham. In a corresponding roster move, the Dash received RHP Chris Bassitt from Advanced Rookie Bristol.

Rienzo left Thursday's game in the second inning with a sore right elbow. He ended up getting the loss after allowing four runs on four hits. Rienzo was 2-4 with a 3.83 ERA in 17 starts and was the Dash's lone pitcher on the Carolina League All-Star team.

In two stints with Winston-Salem, Kloess was 2-2 with a 2.77 ERA in 21 appearances. He also had six saves and was fourth among Carolina League relievers with a 9.92 K/9 IP ratio. He started the season with Winston-Salem before being promoted to AAA Charlotte on May 30. In four appearances with the Knights, Kloess allowed no runs and only two hits in 6.1 innings. He came back to the Dash and quickly picked up where he left off, allowing only one earned run in his next seven outings.

Bassitt joins the Dash from Rookie Bristol where he made his professional debut after getting drafted this year. The Curtice, Ohio native was selected in the 16th round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Akron. In six appearances (8.1 innings pitched), he gave up one earned run and struck out 11. With the Zips this year, Bassitt led the team with seven saves and went 2-5 with a 1.42 ERA and opponents hit .183 against him. He was selected to the Second Team All-MAC.
