Danny Vitiello's 79th Minute Save on March 30 Voted Save of the Week for Week 4

Today, USL Championship announced that Republic FC goalkeeper Danny Vitiello's 79th minute save on March 30 vs. Memphis 901 FC has been voted the league's Week 4 Save of the Week.

Vitiello's stop denied Memphis 901 FC's best chance of the game and kept Sacramento's clean sheet intact. After the visitors pushed forward in transition, a leaping effort kept a Memphis shot from the penalty mark out of the net, and the match scoreless. Republic FC would take the lead on a game-winning score by Jonathan Ricketts less than ten minutes later.

This is Vitiello's first win of the weekly fan vote this season and his third since joining Republic FC in 2022. Republic FC has been nominated for standout performances in three of four weeks this season - forward Trevor Amann was named Player of the Week and was nominated for Goal of the Week after the club's opening night draw vs. Orange County SC. Defender Jack Gurr was named to Team of the Week Bench for his performance in the club's Week 2 win over Miami FC, and earlier this week, captain Rodrigo Lopez was named to Team of the Week Bench for his performance in the club's 1-0 win last Saturday.

Republic FC is back on the road this weekend, heading to the Rockies to face off with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Weidner Field. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. PT and the match be broadcast live in English and Spanish on Antenna TV 40.2 and streaming on FOX40.com and through the FOX40 News mobile app.
