Rhode Island FC Hosts Charleston Battery Tomorrow in Eastern Conference Clash

Charleston Battery makes its way to Beirne Stadium on Saturday undefeated in its first four matches of the 2024 USL Championship season. After defeating New Mexico United 4-0 at home two weeks ago, the club most recently took down Miami FC 2-1. As the match in Florida remained level going into the 82nd minute, Charleston forward MD Myers turned a rebound into a right-footed, close-range blast to give the South Carolina squad another three points in the standings. On the other side of the pitch, Rhode Island FC will look to bounce back after falling 4-1 at Tampa Bay Rowdies. Despite leading at halftime for the second time this season, Head Coach Khano Smith's team was unable to hold off a second half surge from the homeside. Albert Dikwa "Chico" scored his team-leading third goal of the season in the loss while goalkeeper Jackson Lee recorded his first professional start and assist. Rhode Island FC has a busy month ahead with five matches in 21 days, including a mid-week meeting on April 16 with Charlotte Independence in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Starting the month off with a positive result on Saturday against one of the best teams in the USL Championship will be critical.
