Danbury grinds out 4-3 win over Rockford

ROCKFORD, IL--Dave MacIsaac's 3rd late 3rd period goal snapped a 3-3 tie as the Trashers picked up a road win over the Rockford IceHogs on Friday night at the Rockford MetroCentre.

The Trashers fell behind 1-0 as Steve Yetman redirected a Robin Big Snake pass at the 7:31 mark to give the Hogs a 1-0 lead. The Trashers came back quickly as Alex Goupil and Jeff Daw scored at 10:54 and 14:50 to give the Trashers a 2-1 lead after the first period.

David Hymovitz opened the scoring in the second with his 27th from JM Daoust and Jeff Daw at the 1:30 mark. However the IceHogs came back with goals from Dan Boeser and a power play goal from Preston Mizzi to tie the score at 3-3 by the 13:55 mark. MacIsaac's goal came at the 16:47 mark as he knocked in a rebound off a Troy Smith point drive.

Sly Daigle earned the win with a 34 save effort, while Ronnie Vogel stopped just 18 of 22 with the loss. Danbury now leads the Adirondack Frostbite by 12 points in the UHL East. It was a physical game as a total of 106 penalty minutes were assessed between the teams, despite no fights in the contest.

Danbury travels to St. Charles, MO to take on the Missouri River Otters on Saturday night at 8pm at the St. Charles Family Arena.
