GLENDALE, AZ --- The National Lacrosse League announced today that Arizona Sting forward Dan Dawson has been named Offensive Player of the Week for Week #6 of the season. This is the fourth time in his career that Dawson has been named Offensive Player of the Week by the NLL.

"I wish I could share this award with all of my teammates," said Dawson. "Everyone has been playing exceptionally well for us and I'm really benefiting from the hard work that the whole team is putting in on the floor."

Against New York this past Friday, Dawson equaled his career-high by tallying nine points on six goals and three assists in Arizona's 16-15 home win over the Titans. The 25-year old is currently off to the best start of his career, having registered 33 points (17G-16A) in his first five games. Last year the star forward tallied 26 points (8G-18A) in his first five matches, and in 2005 he registered 27 points (16G-10A) in as many contests. He is currently on pace to register 106 points this season, a total that would shatter his own franchise record of 84 points (48G-36A) set in 2005.

The Sting are off to their best start in team history, currently possessing a record of 4-1 after winning a franchise record four straight games. They face the 1-3 Edmonton Rush at Rexall Place on Saturday night at 7:30pm MST.

The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Their home games are played at Jobing.com Arena and their season runs annually from January-April. For more information, please visit www.ArizonaSting.com.
