Dalton Prout Loaned to Springfield

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced Tuesday afternoon that defenseman Dalton Prout was loaned to the club by the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team's NHL affiliate.

Prout has appeared in 25 games with the Blue Jackets this season, recording two assists, 31 penalty minutes and a -7 rating. In 2012-13, the LaSalle, Ontario native notched seven points (one goal, six assists), 25 penalty minutes and a +15 rating in 28 games with Columbus, while totaling nine points (one goal, eight assists), 73 penalty minutes and a +4 rating in 40 games with Springfield. He also split time between the Blue Jackets and Falcons in 2011-12, suiting up in 62 games with Springfield and five with Columbus.

Prout was a sixth-round (154th overall) draft selection of the Blue Jackets in 2010.

The Falcons travel to Lewiston, Maine to take on the Portland Pirates Friday, January 17 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. The team returns to the MassMutual Center Saturday, January 18 to host the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m.
