Dallas Sidekicks Gear up for Saltillo & Monterrey on the Road this Weekend
January 9, 2015 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Dallas Sidekicks News Release
Allen, Texas (Jan. 9, 2015) - The Dallas Sidekicks hit the road this weekend in what will be three crucial match-ups against divisional rivals. The Sidekicks will take on Saltillo Rancho Seco Friday night at 8:35 p.m. p.m. and the much rivaled Monterrey Flash in a double header Sunday beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Friday night will be the Sidekicks' (8-2) first look at Saltillo Ranco Seco (0-8), a late start at Deportivo RSS. Both sides will be well-rested coming off of losses last Saturday, the Sidekicks falling to Oxford City 4-3 and Saltillo taken down by Brownsville 7-6. Last season the two teams faced each other just once, Dallas coming out on top 7-3. The match can be streamed online via XET-TV Channel 6 in Saltillo, Mexico: http://www.nrtmexico.mx/streaming/canal6.html.
That night the Sidekicks will make the hour-and-a-half drive to Monterrey, where they will take on the Southern Division leader Flash (10-1) on Sunday in two separate matches. With the departure of the Hidalgo La Fiera from the MASL in December, teams found themselves needing to make up games, so Sunday's matchup will be a double header. At 5:05 p.m. the two teams will face off in the regularly scheduled game. After a brief rest, a shortened match consisting of one-15 minute period will begin at 8:35 p.m. If the teams are tied at the end of that one period, a 15-minute golden goal period will commence. Dallas and Monterrey are old rivals, but last season only met once, the Flash with a 6-4 playoff victory in a foul-heavy game.
Both matches on Sunday will be available to stream free online at ESPN3 and www.golivesportscast.com.
Individual and group tickets are on sale for all Sidekicks home games via Ticketmaster. For more information, visit www.dallassidekicks.net or call 469-200-GOAL. Follow the team on Twitter and Instagram @GoSidekicks or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/GoSidekicks.
