SAN DIEGO (Nov. 9, 2013) - The Dallas Sidekicks' first road game of the season culminated with a 5-3 victory over the San Diego Sockers, who claimed the PASL's Ron Newman Cup last season. Five different Sidekicks scored in the Saturday night match in front of 5,568 fans at the Valley View Casino Center.

Sidekicks forward Jamie Lovegove scored the first goal of the night at 8:49 in the first quarter, capitalizing on a defensive giveaway. The Sockers dominated the first half of quarter two, Kraig Chiles and Jeff Hughes giving San Diego their only lead of the night. Nestor Hernandez evened the race to 2-2 at 10:39, and then Patrick Shamu took back the lead for the Sidekicks at 14:21, scoring on a feed from Franck Mbemba.

Two Sidekick newcomers scored their first goals for the organization in the second half, Gabriel Arredono at 9:33 in the third quarter and Bronil Koochoie at 2:33 in the fourth, who scored from a distance on the right wing. San Diego's Evan McNeley had the last word of the night when he scored on a deflection at 5:25, but it was not enough to overcome the Sidekicks' lead.

The loss was the first the Sockers had given up at home since the team was reformed in 2009, ending a 46-game winning streak. The Sidekicks also held the Sockers to their lowest goal count in their PASL history. The Sidekicks are now 2-0 in the 2013-14 season.
