Ontario Fury News Release
ONTARIO, CALIF. --- The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, opened its first-ever Professional Arena Soccer League campaign with a thrilling 6-5 victory over the Dallas Sidekicks before a crowd of 1,856 at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
The Fury (1-0) opened a 5-2 lead through the first half, than watched as Dallas rallied to tie game. The Sidekicks got two power play goals, along with two from Patrick Shamu to even the score.
But Ontario forward Tino Nunez broke the tie 3:59 into the fourth quarter, doing his best gunslinger impression, and Ontario held on for their first-ever PASL victory.
Israel Sesay opened the scoring for the Fury 6:08 into the game, and was answered by the Sidekicks' Bronil Koochoie at 11:14. But the Ontario came back with two goals in 46 seconds, as Jayro Martinez and Luis Pinto netted unassisted goals to give Ontario a 3-1 lead at the end of the first.
Dallas, playing in the second of back-to-back games on their west coast swing, got 10 saves from goaltender Sagu, who was booed mercilessly by the Ontario faithful after a first quarter incident.
The Fury will return to action at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 against the Sacramento Surge. Tickets are on sale at the Citizens Business Bank box office or online at cbbankarena.com. Season and group ticket packages are available through the Ontario Fury. For information, go to the Fury's website at ontariofury.com.
