Dagenais Dealt to Toledo

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that the rights to defenseman Randy Dagenais have been traded to the Toledo Storm completing the deal that brought Andrew Oke to the Gladiators from Toledo on February 2nd.

Oke appeared in 32 games with the Gladiators after being acquired from Toledo last season. During that time, he posted 6 goals and 3 assists to rank 3rd among Gladiators defensemen for points with 9 since being acquired. The Fenelon Falls, Ontario native appeared in 5 games during the Kelly Cup playoffs for the Gladiators picking up an assist.

Dagenais began his professional career with the Gladiators during Gwinnett's inaugural season before being traded to Greenville. The Val Rita, Ontario native returned to the Gladiators during the 2004-05 season in a trade with the Louisiana IceGators for Dave McCulloch.

Finishing the season with 14 goals and 33 assists for 47 points, Dagenais ranked 3rd in the ECHL among defensemen for goals and 4th among defensemen for points. The 6-foot, 200 lb. defenseman also appeared in a combined 74 games during the 2004-05 season.

The 2004 Central Division Champion Gwinnett Gladiators finished their second season in the 28 team ECHL advancing to the second round of the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
