San Diego Gulls News Release
SAN DIEGO â The ECHL announced on Thursday that San Diego Gulls director of public relations Jeremy Zager is the 2004-05 recipient of the ECHL Media Relations Award.
Zager, who was presented with his award at the annual ECHL Communications and Marketing Meetings, finished ahead of Josh Fisher of the Las Vegas Wranglers in a vote of media relations directors, broadcasters and media members.
"Jeremy has proved over and over again that he is dedicated to increasing the visibility and the community involvement of this team in San Diego," Gulls COO Tera Black said. "He has worked hard to develop so many successful programs both in community and media relations. When it comes to PR he is the complete package and we are lucky to have him as a member of this staff. He has indeed earned this award."
Zager, 26, will be entering his seventh season in the Gulls public relations department in 2005-06, having begun his career with the organization in 2000 as an intern. He handles the day-to-day media activities of the organization while also being responsible for all printed publications and serving as a liaison for all community inquiries. He also serves as a part-time broadcaster for Gulls games and can be heard with Black on the Gulls Internet Radio Show, aired on wsradio.com. Zager and Black were selected Media Director of the Year for the West Coast Hockey League in 2002-03.
