
'Dads Drop Opener vs Greensboro 6-4

Hickory, NC- The Crawdads opened a six-game homestand against the Greensboro Grasshoppers with a 6-4 loss.
Tekoah Roby got the start for the Crawdads, giving up four runs in the third.
In the bottom half of the inning the 'Dads clawed back for three runs to make it a one-run ballgame. Aaron Zavala walked, and Evan Carter singled to put two runners on. Luisangel Acuña hit a double to right to score the lead runner. A wild pitch brought in Carter from third and a second scored Acuña.
Roby finished his evening after the fifth, allowing the four runs on six hits and three walks. He struck out six. Triston Polley took over for Roby, giving up two runs in three innings of work.
The Crawdads got a run back in the eighth inning to bring the score to 6-4. Trevor Hauver was hit by a pitch to start off the inning. He moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. Chris Seise hit a ground ball single that drove in Hauver.
Marc Church struck out all three batters he faced in the top of the ninth but the 'Dads were unable to get anything across in the home half of the inning.
The series will continue tomorrow evening with a Jungle Jubilee. Fans can dress in a jungle-themed costume for a discounted $6 ticket. It is also a Kids Win Wednesday presented by Arby's and kids 12 and under can get a free ticket to the game, a meal voucher, and a voucher for speed pitch, the bounce house, and carousel. Tomorrow will be a Wine Wednesday with discounted wine from Catawba Farms and Carolina Vines. Salute to Scrubs will continue and medical professionals can get a free ticket while friends and family can get a discounted $6 ticket.
