Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release

Muskegon, MI - Joey Daccord recorded his second straight shutout, and the Lumberjacks increased their winning streak to five, knocking off the Dubuque Fighting Saints 2-0.

Lumberjacks dominated the first period, outshooting the Fighting Saints 15-4. Hamilton started the scoring after following up on his own rebound to give the Lumberjacks a 1-0 lead. Laine McKay notched the assist on the goal. Five minutes later, Rem Pitlick scored his sixth goal of the season, to give the Lumberjacks a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

The second period featured more hostility between the two teams, leading to more special teams play, and the Lumberjacks killed off all four penalties to preserve the two-goal lead.

In the third period, the Fighting Saints increased the pressure, but Daccord completed his 24 save night as the Lumberjacks picked up the 2-0 win over the Fighting Saints. The Lumberjacks (7-6) registered their fifth consecutive win, while the Fighting Saints (10-5) suffered their second lost to an Eastern Conference team this season.

The Lumberjacks will play the Fighting Saints again at L.C. Walker Arena tomorrow night. The puck will drop at 7:15, and the Lumberjacks will feature plenty of family fun when the Lumberjacks host Faith and Family night sponsored by JQ99.

The Lumberjacks are celebrating their sixth season in the United States Hockey League, and flex ticket packages for the 2015-16 season are on sale now! To reserve your seats for all the action, please contact our sales team at (231) 724-5225.
