D-Fenders Roll Past Red Claws

RENO, NV - The Los Angeles D-Fenders remain unbeaten in 2012 and extended their win streak to a franchise record seven games after they rolled past the Maine Red Claws 106-94 Wednesday morning at the NBA Development League Showcase. Additionally, the victory now has the 2011-12 D-Fenders tied with the 2006-07 squad for the second longest road win streak in team history (4 games).

Los Angeles (15-6) was particularly effective down low throughout the game as they scored 40 points in the paint. Gerald Green made himself the high-scorer on the day after he exploded for 34 points (13-17 FG, 4-5 3FG), four rebounds and three steals in 33 minutes. The D-Fenders also saw Courtney Fortson finish with an efficient 18 points (6-8 FG), four rebounds and two steals, Elijah Millsap tally 17 points, three rebounds along with two steals, and Brandon Costner total 15 points and seven rebounds.

Maine's (6-13) Jerome Randle steered his team with 24 points, five rebounds and four assists. Lawrence Hill added 22 points (8-9 FG) to go with a two blocks and two steals, while Paul Harris chipped in 11 points off the bench in the loss.

With the win, the D-Fenders finish 2-0 in the 2012 NBA Development League Showcase.

Los Angeles next plays back-to-back games against the Idaho Stampede starting on January 13th. The game can be seen live online on NBA Futurecast.
