
D-Fenders Malcolm Thomas Signs with San Antonio Spurs

EL SEGUNDO - Malcolm Thomas has signed to the San Antonio Spurs making him the second Los Angeles D-Fenders player to receive a GATORADE Call-Up this season, it was announced today. Thomas is the fifth GATORADE Call-Up in D-Fenders history and the 13th NBA Development League player to make an NBA roster this season.
Acquired on December 28th from the Los Angeles Lakers preseason roster, Thomas, a 6-9 forward out of San Diego State, helped the D-Fenders win all six games he played in, averaging 14.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.70 blocks. Additionally, Thomas helped lead the Aztecs to an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance last season, averaging 11.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.02 blocks in 30.4 minutes. After just two seasons at San Diego State, Thomas concluded his career with the Aztecs as the school's second leading shot blocker of all-time while ranking eighth all-time in both rebound average and field goal percentage.
