D-Fenders Activate Eloy Vargas

EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles D-Fenders have announced center Eloy Vargas has joined the team and is expected to be in uniform tonight when the D-Fenders host the Idaho Stampede at 7:00 p.m.

Vargas (6'11", 245) was the D-Fenders first round pick (17th overall) in the 2014 NBA Development League Draft. Vargas played in 27 games in 2013-14 for Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in Spain, averaging 5.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 15.0 minutes per game. A native of the Dominican Republic, Vargas has represented his country in 21 international games and also played collegiately at the University of Kentucky.

In a related move, the D-Fenders have released forward Gideon Gamble. Gamble appeared in 20 games for the D-Fenders in 2013-14, averaging 5.2 points and 1.3 rebounds.
