November 21, 2014 - NBA G League (G League)
Erie BayHawks News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania - The Erie BayHawks outscored Fort Wayne 50-39 in the second half to capture their first 3-0 start in franchise history. Seth Curry led the way with 26 points as Peyton Siva recorded Erie's first triple-double of the year with 15 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Guard Jarvis Williams came off the bench to score 15 points as well.
Erie started the game slow as they trailed by as much as 6 in the first quarter, behind Fort Wayne guard Andre Emmett's eight points. Curry's three point play to start the second helped spark an 8-0 run to take their first lead of the game. C.J. Fair out of Syracuse University silenced Erie's momentum after hitting a three and the Mad Ants scored eight in a row themselves in an up and down first half. Erie took a one point lead after the second quarter which featured six lead changes and two ties.
A competitive third quarter ended on an Erie 4-0 run to take a four point lead heading into the fourth. The BayHawks never looked back as Curry and Williams traded baskets during an 18-5 run to go up by 18 midway through the period. Siva's exclamation three with less than two minutes in the game proved to be enough for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants as they dropped their third straight game of the season after winning the Development League Championship last year.
Andre Emmett and Myck Kabongo tallied 19 points each on a combined 13-18 shooting. Emmett was held to just two points in the second half after going 6-6 from the floor in the first. Adreian Payne and Glen Rice, Jr. were assigned to the Mad Ants earlier this week as Payne went 2-10 with seven points and Rice shot 4-7 for 11 points.
Home tip-off weekend continues tomorrow as the undefeated BayHawks will rematch the Mad Ants at 7:00 PM at Erie Insurance Arena. Tickets are available by calling 814-790-5600.
