
D.C. United to Hold Annual Equipment Sale

Washington, D.C. (November 22, 2010) - D.C. United today announced plans for the club's annual Holiday Equipment Sale. Set for Saturday, December 4 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., the event will be held at the VW Lounge in RFK Stadium and will feature authentic D.C. United team-issued gear. Season Ticket Holders who present their Membership cards will be granted early entry at 11:00 a.m. All proceeds from the sale will benefit United's charitable arm, United for D.C., which advances opportunities for economically, physically and mentally disadvantaged youth of the greater Washington D.C. area.
The sale will include items such as game-worn player jerseys and shorts, practice jerseys, long sleeve tops, sweatshirts, team jackets, training pants, team polos, and match balls. This sale is open to the general public so please plan on arriving early and entering through Gate A of RFK Stadium. Only cash and credit cards will be accepted.
Founded in 2002, United for D.C. serves youth and families with a focus on healthy lifestyles, literacy and education, and improving life skills. Through the Kicks for Kids program, more than 5,000 underprivileged children had the opportunity to watch United play this season alone. United Reads, currently present in six DC elementary schools, distributed nearly 8,000 books during player visits throughout the spring. The United Soccer Club is an after-school soccer program, which teaches fundamental skills and hosts games and scrimmages in twelve sites throughout Washington, D.C.
