D.C. United Loan Goalkeeper Jon Kempin to San Diego Loyal SC WASHINGTON, DC - D.C. United have loaned goalkeeper Jon Kempin to San Diego Loyal SC in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship until the end of June. Kempin will rejoin the Black-and-Red at the conclusion of his loan.
Kempin, 29, joined the Black-and-Red on Jan. 8, 2021 from Columbus Crew SC and made his debut in the 1-0 win against Chicago Fire FC on May 13, 2021. Since his arrival, Kempin has made 13 appearances (12 starts) across all competitions.
In 2022, Kempin recorded six saves in two league appearances and was in goal for the 3-2 win against the New England Revolution on April 23. He also started in the 3-0 win against Flower City Union in the Third Round of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on April 20.
Transaction: D.C. United have loaned goalkeeper Jon Kempin to San Diego Loyal SC in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship until the end of June.
