
D.C. United Announce Two Roster Moves in Advance of Nashville SC Match

WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United have announced two roster moves ahead of the match against Nashville SC on May 13 at Audi Field. Defender Gaoussou Samaké has been recalled from his loan with Loudoun United and is available for selection for the Black-and-Red. The club have also loaned defender Hayden Sargis to Loudoun United FC in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship through the 2023 season.
Samaké joined Loudoun United FC on loan on March 10, 2023. The 25-year-old made eight appearances for the Red-and-White in the USL Championship and three additional appearances in U.S. Open Cup play. D.C. United acquired Samaké from ASEC Mimosas in the Ivory Coast on Nov. 22, 2021. Samake made his debut for the Black-and-Red on March 12, 2022 and has made three total MLS appearances.
Sargis, 21, joined the Black-and-Red on Jan. 24, 2022 signing a three-year deal through 2024 with options in both 2025 and 2026. In 2022, Sargis played in 18 games for Loudoun United FC, D.C. United's USL affiliate, where he helped secure five clean sheets while accumulating 1,101 minutes played. He subsequently made his D.C. United debut on April 19, 2022, in a 3-0 US Open Cup third round win against Flower City Union. Sargis was loaned to Phoenix Rising FC in the USL Championship on Sept. 8, 2022 and made seven appearances for the side that season. He made his MLS debut for the Black-and-Red on April 1, 2023, in a 0-0 draw with Chicago Fire FC.
Transaction: D.C. United have recalled defender Gaoussou Samaké from his loan. The Black-and-Red loaned defender Hayden Sargis to Loudoun United FC in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship through the 2023 season.
