Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.-The United Hockey League announced the 2003-04 All-Star rosters on Monday and there are a pair of IceHogs on the Western Conference squad. Center Steve Cygan and winger Kelly Miller will represent the IceHogs at the gala that will take place on Sunday, January 18th at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Cygan, the 2002-03 UHL Rookie of the Year, has recovered from a slow start and has racked up 11 goals. The Chicago, Illinois native is playing in his second professional season. Last season, Cygan led all UHL rookies in goals (27), assists (45) and points (72). Prior to skating with Rockford, Cygan attended the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

The All-Star Game marks a homecoming of sorts for Miller, who played for the Komets during the 2001-02 season and for five games during the 2002-03 season. Miller is playing in his first season with the IceHogs and fourth overall. The Toledo, Ohio native has appeared in all 32 games this season for Rockford and has 7g-10a-17pts.

Fans can vote for the starters for the game by logging onto the UHL web-site (www.theuhl.com). Voting will be done from Monday, January 5th through Monday, January 12th. The game pits the Western Conference against the Eastern Conference, and each of the 12 UHL teams will have at least two representatives.

Next Home Game: Wednesday, January 7th vs. Fort Wayne Komets. The IceHogs and Komets drop the puck for the fourth time this season and second at the MetroCentre. Wednesday is this season's second WXRX $1 Beer Night with the IceHogs and the Rockf Station.
