CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Cyclones claimed a wild 6-5 win over the North Division leading Kalamazoo Wings on Friday night. The triumph moved Cincinnati into sole possession of second place in the division with the triumph. Scott Reynolds' third period goal was the difference in the win.

Twice during the game, Cincinnati battled back from two goal deficits in the contest to take the triumph. It was the first time since February 20 of last season that the club erased a dual goal deficit for the victory.

Kalamazoo raced out to a 2-0 lead in the first seven minutes on goals from Travis Granbois (2:08) and Jeff Mason (power play at 6:17). It took the Cyclones twelve seconds after that to cut the deficit in half when on the ensuing faceoff a quick rush up the right side led to Dustin Sproat's ninth goal of the season from Brett Robinson and Matt Pierce. Just 44 seconds after that (at 7:13), Barret Ehgoetz banged home his sixth of the season from the top of the goal crease. Scott Reynolds had the assist on the score to level the score at two apiece. Cincinnati grabbed its first lead of the night at 14:17 when Robinson re-directed a Pierce shot in the low slot between the legs of Kalamazoo goalie Julien Ellis. It was Robinson's second goal in as many games. The shots favored Cincinnati, 15-6, in the period.

After a wide open second period, the game was tied at five apiece at the break. Kalamazoo scored the first three goals of the period, as Darryl Lloyd (his seventh at 1:39), Sam Ftorek (his third at 4:33) and Rick Cleaver (his ninth at 6:38) gave the Wings a 5-3 lead. Cincinnati cut the deficit to 5-4 when Mike McLean slapped home his fifth score at 10:31 from Bryan Leitch and Ryan Del Monte. The game was tied for the third time at five each when Jason Jozsa slipped a shot through traffic from the top of the right circle for his first goal with the Cyclones. Sproat had the assist on the shorthanded goal. The shots in the second favored Kalamazoo, 12-8.

Scott Reynolds snapped off a shot between the circles at 7:40 of the third period after Ehgoetz wrestled a puck free from the left corner. It was his seventh of the season and his third game winning goal. Kalamazoo again won the shots battle in the term, 7-5, but the Cyclones claimed the title for the game at 28-25.

Robert Mayer picked up the triumph, his third of the season-stopping 20 shots. Julien Ellis took the loss, turning aside 22 shots. The Wings were two of five on the power play, while Cincinnati was zero for three.

Cincinnati is now 8-7-1, while Kalamazoo is 11-3-1. The Cyclones head off for a pair of weekend games at Wheeling. Tomorrow night, the game is carried on the internet at www.cycloneshockey.com with an 8:05pm face off. Sunday it is a 6:35pm start from WesBanco Arena.
