Letourneau-Leblond And Pikkarainen Assigned To Lowell

NEWARK, NJ - The New Jersey Devils announced on Wednesday that left wing Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond and right wing Ilkka Pikkarainen have been assigned to Lowell for conditioning purposes. The Lowell Devils also announced that right wing Trevor Kell and forward Jeff Prough have been returned on loan to the Trenton Devils of the ECHL.

Leblond, 24, was activated from injured reserve on November 20 and has skated in seven games this season with New Jersey. The fifth-year pro appeared in 60 games last season for Lowell, leading the team with 216 penalty minutes and recording 10 points (5g-5a).

Pikkarainen, 28, made his NHL debut this season with the Devils and has chipped in an assist in 13 games. A native of Sonkaj=E4rvi, Finland, Pikkarainen played with the AHL's Albany River Rats from 2003-06, totaling 29 goals, 33 assists and 305 penalty minutes in 196 contests.

Kell was recalled on loan from Trenton on November 7 and scored a goal during his five-game stint with Lowell. Prough was recalled from Trenton on November 11 and contributed a goal and two assists in six games in his AHL debut.
