
Cyclones Take Series Finale from BlueClaws 6-1 on Sunday

BROOKLYN, NY - The BlueClaws dropped their fourth straight game on Sunday, falling 6-1 to Brooklyn at Maimonides Park. The Cyclones took five of six from the BlueClaws in their series.
Jersey Shore falls to 1-8 to start the season while Brooklyn improves to 6-3 through the season's first nine games.
Brooklyn, the Mets affiliate, scored three times in the second inning to take the lead. Brandon McIlwain opened the scoring with a solo home run, his first of the season. Jose Mena hit an RBI single and Tanner Murphy added a SAC fly to put Brooklyn up 3-0.
The BlueClaws run came in the third when Casey Martin reached on an error.
Warren Saunders doubled home a run for the Cyclones in the sixth. They added two more runs on SAC flies, one by Nic Gaddis and one by Jose Peroza, in the seventh.
Cyclones starter Carlos Ocampo threw three scoreless innings. Garrison Bryant (1-0) followed with two scoreless innings to earn the win.
Jersey Shore starter Christian McGowan (0-1) gave up three runs in 3.1 innings to take the loss. Carlo Reyes gave up one run in two innings in relief of McGowan.
The BlueClaws were held to four hits in the game, one each by DJ Stewart, Jared Carr, Nick Matera, and Nicolas Torres.
Jersey Shore returns home on Tuesday for a six game series with Asheville. Tickets are on sale online.
