Brooklyn Cyclones News Release

Brooklyn, NY - The Cyclones snapped a three game losing streak on Tuesday night thanks to a 3-2, come from behind victory over the New Jersey Cardinals. Jesus Gamero drove home Joe Holden with a one-out single into the left-centerfield gap to give Brooklyn the 3-2 victory in ten innings.

The Cardinals and Cyclones were locked up in a pitcher's duel through the first six innings, as both teams struggled to get runners aboard, but in the seventh Caleb Stewart broke the scoreless tie with his eighth home run of the season and gave Brooklyn a 1-0 edge. The lead was short lived however, because in the top of the eighth the Cardinals scored twice and jumped in front 2-1. But the Brooklyn bats would not go quietly as Matt Anderson, playing in his first game at KeySpan Park, hit a one out solo-blast over the left-field wall to knot the score at 2-2 and sent the game in extra-frames. After Robert Paulk pitched a perfect top of the tenth, the Cyclones ended the game in the bottom of the frame. Joe Holden started the rally with a bloop single to left that was just out of the reach of a diving Carlos De La Cruz. After stealing second, Holden came around to score the winning run on Gamero's clutch base hit to give Brooklyn the 3-2 win.

Ryan Meyers made the start for Brooklyn and pitched five solid innings, allowing only three hits while walking one and striking out three, but received a no-decision for his efforts. Robert Paulk (2-0) was the winner for Brooklyn after pitching two scoreless innings of relief.

The Cyclones will look to sweep the brief two-game series tomorrow evening at 7:00 when RHP Jeff Landing takes the mound for Brooklyn. Great seats are still available and can be purchased in person at the KeySpan Park Box Office, over the phone by calling (718) 507- TIXX or by logging on to www.brookylncyclones.com
