Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Cutters fall 4 games behind the Yankees in the McNamara Division after a 3-2 loss Tuesday night in Staten Island. 1B Steve Pearce drove in both Cutters runs. Eric Krebs started for Williamsport and pitched brilliantly, allowing 1 run on just 2 hits in 5 innings of work. The Cutters hold a slim ½ game lead over Lowell in the wild card playoff race.
All-Stars Announced! (see attached release) Four Williamsport players have been selected to play in the Inaugural NY-P All-Star Game to be held in Brooklyn on August 23. Crosscutters selected to the squad are; 1B Steven Pearce, P Todd Redmond, P Matt Swanson and SS Brent Lillibridge. In addition, the National League squad will be managed by Williamsport manager Tom Prince and his coaching staff.
