Cyclones Drop Rain-Shortened Contest in Aberdeen, 2-0

ABERDEEN, MD - In a rain-shortened game, the Aberdeen IronBirds shut out the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, 2-0 after five-and-a-half innings at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium Thursday night.

Win: Rom (4-0) | Loss: : Opp (1-4)

BIG MOMENTS

Drew Rom struck out six Cyclones over six shutout innings, allowing four hits and no runs in the victory. The No. 25 Orioles prospect faced two over the minimum.

Aberdeen plated two runs against Cam Opp in the fourth inning, scoring on Zach Watson's run-scoring groundout and Adam Hall's RBI single to make it 2-0.

Brooklyn starter Cam Opp took the tough-luck loss, allowing two runs (one earned) while striking out a career-high seven hitters.
