July 17, 2007 - The Cyclones beat the Crosscutters Tuesday night 5-1 behind another mix of good hitting and strong pitching in front of 7,420 fans. Brooklyn starter Nick Waechter turned in his best performance of the season giving up one run in five innings while striking out nine batters. Catcher Jason Jacobs blasted his fourth home run of the season and Will Vogl had three hits and added two RBI.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning, after Micah Schilling scored when Jacobs reached on a fielding error by Williamsport third baseman Zach Penprase, Vogl drove in Raul Reyes and Jacobs on a line drive single up the middle.

In the top of the 4th inning, Williamsport loaded the bases with one out against Waechter. In his toughest spot of the game, Waechter responded by striking out the final two batters of the inning to preserve the 3-1 lead. Brooklyn extended the lead to 5-1 when Jason Jacobs smacked a two run home run in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Will Morgan gave up one hit and struck out six in four scoreless innings of relief for Brooklyn to wrap up Waechter's first win of the season and earn Morgan his first save of the season.
