Hudson Valley Renegades News Release
FISHKILL, NY (July 17, 2007) - In front of a sold out crowd, Hudson Valley Renegades starter Jason Ragan starred under the lights, puzzling State College Spikes hitters for seven innings en route to a 5-1 victory Tuesday night.
On his way to picking up his team-leading fourth win of the season, Ragan struck out four while scattering only five hits and allowing one run. Reliever Noah Booth pitched the final two innings to earn his second save, striking out four in the process.
Meanwhile at the plate, the âGades offense showed no signs of slowing down after Monday's 13-1 slaughtering of Williamsport. Cody Cipriano set the tempo with two hits, two runs scored and a stolen base. Steve Vogt connected on three hits, including two doubles and a run batted in. Mike McCormick also contributed, reaching base three times.
The Renegades (13-14) will attempt to stretch their current win streak to three tomorrow night at "The Dutch," with âGades pitcher Diego Echeverria (0-4, 9.41 ERA) locking horns with State College (13-14) southpaw Tony Watson (4-0, 1.63 ERA).
