Cyclones Add Trio of Players to 2014-15 Roster
August 19, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they've agreed to terms with forwards Phil Bushbacher, Stephan Vigier, and Lee Reimer for the 2014-15 season.
Bushbacher, a Glenview, Illinois native, returns for another season in Cincinnati after amassing nine points (4g, 5a) in 30 games for the Cyclones in 2013-14. The 24-year-old also posted eight points (4g, 4a) with St. Charles Chill (CHL) before coming to the ECHL.
"Phil was a solid player for us last season," said Cyclones Head Coach Matt Macdonald. "He is a very hard worker and comes to the rink ready to do whatever we ask of him. I'm looking forward to having him back with us again."
Vigier (VEE-zhay), a 24-year-old, will participate in his first full pro season with the Cyclones after making an impressive debut last spring with the South Carolina Stingrays. In eight games, the five-foot-nine-inch, 168-pound forward posted six points (5g, 1a). Prior to going pro, Vigier was a four-year letter winner at Northern Michigan University, where he amassed 92 points (39g, 53a) in 151 collegiate games. He was a two-time alternate captain of the Wildcats and set career highs in points (33), goals (16), and assists (17) during 2013-14.
"Stephan adds some excellent offensive skill for us," said Macdonald. "He was able to make the jump from the college ranks to the pro game, which is sometimes hard to do. I'm excited to see him compete for us during his first full season at this level."
Reimer (RYE-mur), a Michigan State University alumnus, begins his pro career after collecting 76 points (24g, 52a) in 139 career collegiate games. The 24-year-old twice was a top-three scorer for the Spartans, including his senior campaign in 2013-14 when he posted 22 points (9g, 13a) in 35 contests.
"Lee comes in highly recommended," said Macdonald. "To be a top-line player at a program like Michigan State tells us that he's not only a hard worker, but he also does the little things to find success. I hope to see that continue during his rookie year with us."
The countdown to the 2014-15 First Face-Off is underway! The Cyclones will return for another season of hockey at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday, October 25 when they play host to the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:30pm. Fans can also get the latest team updates throughout the offseason on Facebook and Twitter (@CincyCyclones).
