Evansville IceMen Announce New Director of Media Relations & Broadcaster

Evansville, IN - The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, have hired Sean Pooley as the team's new Director of Media Relations and Broadcaster. In addition, Pooley will oversee the IceMen's new website, social media, and be a part of the sales team.

Sean Pooley comes to Evansville from the Wichita Thunder organization where he performed play-by-play for both the Central Hockey League Wichita Thunder and the Junior Thunder of the Western States Hockey League. In addition to his hockey background with Wichita, Pooley also served as the play-by-play voice for University of Missouri softball, volleyball, wrestling, and gymnastics and has previous media relations experience with Wichita State University, Metro State Athletics, and the St. Cloud River Bats Baseball Team in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Convergence Journalism from the University of Missouri and is finishing up his Master's Degree in Sports Management from Wichita State University.

"I am honored and thrilled to be a part of the IceMen organization," said Sean Pooley. "I eagerly anticipate a long and bright future with Evansville and I can't wait to get started. I look forward to building relationships with the IceMen coaching staff, players, front office, and the fans as well as the entire Evansville community. I hope to lend my voice to many IceMen goals this season as well as the team's first Kelly Cup Championship." He officially joins the IceMen staff on September 2nd.

And the IceMen proudly announce that the team has been chosen the Platinum Winner - "Best Local Sporting Event" for the third year in a row by the Evansville Courier & Press Readers' Choice Awards.

"On behalf of the entire IceMen organization I want to thank the readers of the Courier & Press for this wonderful award," said team owner Ron Geary. "We're working hard as we prepare for our fourth season in the Ford Center and are looking forward to opening night on Saturday, October 18th."

A reminder that the IceMen have announced the dates for their Inaugural Free Agent Camp to be held at Swonder Ice Arena, located at 209 N Boeke Road in Evansville, IN. The camp will run on Friday September 19th through Sunday September 21st . Players will participate in three scrimmages during their time in Evansville with top players being guaranteed a spot on the 2014-2015 Season Training Camp Roster.

Cost is $250, paid in advance, includes a two-night hotel stay at the Comfort Inn East, lunch and jersey and socks will be provided. Players must provide their own equipment, with helmets having a shield and must carry their own USA Hockey Insurance.
